Privacy Policy
LeadPluck was built with a fundamental principle: all collected data stays strictly on your computer. No servers. No telemetry. No middleman databases.
1. Single Purpose & Overview
LeadPluck is a browser extension designed for a single specific purpose: to collect publicly listed business contact details (name, phone, email, website) from web pages the user explicitly opens, store them locally on the user's device, and enable the user to organize, filter, and export them.
We do not operate backend servers, account databases, or user telemetry endpoints. Everything operates client-side directly within your browser.
2. What LeadPluck Reads
LeadPluck only inspects data that is already publicly visible on pages you instruct it to view:
- Google Maps Business Entries: Public details visible on Google Maps result lists or place cards (such as business name, phone number, address, official website URL, category, rating, and review count).
- Business Website Pages: Public contact details located on web pages you open or scan, specifically checking the website's homepage, Contact page, or About page for public contact information (such as email addresses, phone numbers, WhatsApp links, and public social profile links).
LeadPluck never reads private browsing history, personal user accounts, credentials, or unrelated tabs.
3. Local Storage Model
All captured leads, custom lists, user settings, search presets, and history are stored strictly on your own computer inside your browser's local extension storage (chrome.storage.local).
Because there is no remote cloud sync:
- Your leads never leave your physical device.
- No third party (including the developer of LeadPluck) has access to your databases or leads.
- Data remains safe against remote database breaches.
4. What is Shared (Strictly Nothing)
Specifically:
- We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to data brokers or advertisers.
- We do not display advertisements or sponsored listings.
- We do not include third-party trackers, analytics scripts (e.g. Google Analytics), or behavioral telemetry.
- We do not load remote code dynamically; all executable code is packaged directly within the extension package.
5. Network Requests
LeadPluck only executes network requests that you directly initiate through your own browser session:
- Google Maps Batch Searches: Opening search query URLs that you input into the Batch Runner.
- Business Contact Fetching: Making HTTP requests directly to the business's own public website (e.g.
example.com/contact) to parse public contact emails.
No connections are made to any proprietary developer server or external analytical APIs.
6. Extension Permissions Justification
To operate locally and perform its stated single purpose, LeadPluck requests the following permissions:
| Permission | Justification |
|---|---|
storage / unlimitedStorage | Enables storing your leads, custom lists, and settings locally on your machine without arbitrary size restrictions. |
alarms | Coordinates timing intervals for the batch search runner and maintains local automatic restore points. |
Host permissions | Permits scanning business websites you open and fetching contact/about pages for listed websites to discover public email addresses. |
Content Scripts | Parses publicly visible business information displayed on Google Maps search pages you view. |
7. User Responsibility & Compliance
Contact information extracted from public websites may constitute personal data under various jurisdictions. As the operator of the tool, you are responsible for using all collected data lawfully and in full compliance with:
- Applicable Data Protection Laws: Such as the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), India's Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), etc.
- Anti-Spam Regulations: Including CAN-SPAM, the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), and regional opt-out guidelines.
- Website Terms of Service: Complying with terms and conditions of third-party platforms.
8. Data Management & Deletion
You retain 100% control over all data at all times:
- CSV Export: Download all or filtered subsets of your leads to a standard CSV file anytime.
- Trash & Soft Delete: Move individual leads or entire lists to the built-in Trash.
- Full Purge: Click "Clear all" in the Settings tab to instantly erase all stored leads and preferences.
- Uninstall: Removing LeadPluck from your Chrome browser immediately and permanently erases all associated extension storage from your machine.
