DM Daymark
Effective Date: August 8, 2026

Privacy Policy

Daymark was built on a single promise: your events never leave your device. No servers. No tracking. No compromises.

🔐
Zero Data Guarantee
Daymark collects zero personal data. Events, background images, and settings are stored only in your browser — never transmitted, never logged, never sold.

1. Information Collection and Use

Daymark operates on a local-first privacy model. Here is an exhaustive list of what we collect on our servers:

Absolutely nothing.

We do not collect, transmit, or process any personally identifiable information, browsing history, keystroke data, or analytics of any kind. No account creation is required to use Daymark.

2. Local Storage Model

All data created by Daymark is stored exclusively inside your browser using built-in extension storage APIs:

  • Event details — Title, target date, and time of your upcoming days.
  • Visual styling — Custom colors, GIF URLs, or uploaded background images.
  • Widget preferences — Visibility toggles and display settings.

This data lives entirely within your browser's sandboxed storage. Uninstalling Daymark removes all data permanently.

3. Backup & Restore (Data Loss)

Because your data is stored locally, it may be permanently lost if you clear your browser's local storage or uninstall the extension.

We strongly encourage you to use the built-in Backup feature to export your events and settings to a secure file on your computer, which you can restore at any time.

Storage Responsibility
Your Device
Exported backup files remain under your sole control. We have no remote access to recover lost data.

4. No Analytics or Tracking

Daymark does not integrate with any tracking tools or servers. We have:

  • No analytics platforms (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
  • No advertising networks or pixels
  • No background telemetry or usage profiling

5. Third-Party Services

Daymark may allow you to link to external URLs for GIF backgrounds. If you link to an external image URL, your browser will make a standard network request to fetch that image from the hosting provider, subject to their privacy policies. This is a standard browser behavior.

The browser infrastructure (e.g., Google Chrome Web Store) may collect basic technical information outside of our direct control, such as installation metrics.

6. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as Daymark evolves. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated Effective Date. We will not retroactively reduce user privacy protections without explicit notice.
